Let's look back at the second decade, between 1974 and 1984, when legacy became the foundation of the brand.

Upon his father's death, Joseph, the eldest of three brothers, took over the family business. It was 1978, and he had just completed his accounting studies.
Having grown up with the rhythm of his parents' trade, he couldn't bring himself to sell the shop on Rue Saint-Placide. Despite his mother's concerns, he chose to continue his father's work.
For Jonak, he envisioned a philosophy that balanced quality craftsmanship, well-thought-out simplicity, inspired creation, and fair pricing.
He was one of those humble individuals whose drive for success was fueled only by a desire to challenge the status quo with authentic values.

For Joseph, this desire to develop Jonak stemmed from the family's history with the brand: continuing what was started before him, growing the brand with a vision of longevity,
and making his father proud, as a tribute to his work. From his first day at the helm of the shop, he hired Jonak's very first saleswoman, who remained with the company until 2018.
This symbolic anecdote reflects a strong sense of belonging that became more prevalent within the teams as the brand grew.
