THE CITY ISSUE
For Autumn/Winter 2026, JONAK unveils The City Issue, a collection conceived as a magazine issue dedicated to Paris and the women who bring it to life. Inspired by the editorial aesthetic of the 1990s, this new season celebrates a free-spirited and assertive femininity, blending boyish heritage with modernity. Captured by Priscillia Saada, the campaign alternates between raw interiors and outdoor scenes, glimpsed along a few Parisian streets. Spontaneous and uncontrived, the images prioritise attitude over posing and the candid moment over perfection. The aim: to bring together the raw spirit of the 1990s and Parisian elegance, without ever having to choose between the two.
The centrepiece of the collection, the ankle boot epitomises this balance between strength and refinement. Drawing inspiration from the 1990s, it borrows the boldest styles from the men’s wardrobe: the Chelsea boot with its elasticated side panels, or the RIO style, which features the straps and lugged sole of biker boots. For a more Parisian look, the DIO ankle boot, with its zip fastening and low heel, works with every outfit, whilst chocolate or beige suede adds a more relaxed touch. And for days that stretch into the evening, the collection also offers heeled ankle boots with a slightly pointed toe, for a dressier look. From one style to the next, the same idea prevails: playing with contrast rather than choosing sides.
Alongside these, the boots echo the bold and slightly carefree style of the 1990s. The grained leather gives them a sturdy silhouette, softened by the rounded toes. The collection then plays with boot heights, from BICHETTE, mid-calf and slightly flared, to ROXY, which rises to just below the knee on a lugged sole. For a more dressed-up look, some also come on a heel, sometimes embellished with the House monogram. These are boots suited to every occasion, and ones you’ll keep season after season.
It is perhaps in the lacing that the collection best expresses its design ethos. Made first to hold the foot, metal eyelets and tight laces now catch the eye. On black or brown leather boots, such as the DESTON, they create an androgynous, almost utilitarian silhouette. On more feminine styles, the laces extend right to the top and take on a touch of Parisian elegance: VAMELINE pairs them with a low heel, DUOMO with a pointed toe, and on the knee-high boot, they run from the foot right up to the knee. A single detail, both practical and exquisite, that encapsulates the very spirit of The City Issue.
Fitted ankle boots, supple ballet flats, grained-leather and suede loafers: this autumn, every pair is chosen as much for its style as for the pleasure of wearing it. All these trends are available in selected stores and online at jonak-paris.com.
