Jonak was born in 1964, so it's been almost 60 years since our expertise in the world of women's footwear was proven. The brand was born and bred in Paris, the capital of fashion and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Over the years, Jonak's reputation has grown from a Parisian brand to a national brand. We now have over 100 points of sale in France, and our international expansion began a few years ago. Above all, our aim is to meet all women's footwear needs, but also all the needs of the same woman. That's why we offer over 350 references per season, so that every woman can find what she's looking for. We make it a point of honor to respect traditional shoe-making techniques: over 150 steps are required to produce a pair of shoes. Last but not least, we strive to keep up with the latest trends by staying connected to the world around us. Jonak's factories are located mainly in Europe, and more precisely where footwear know-how is recognized, in Portugal, Spain and Italy. European workshops account for 86% of all Jonak shoe production. Asia also accounts for 12% of production, mainly for summer sandals made from raffia, with India being the region of specialization. The remaining 2% is produced in North Africa. We have been working for many years with our workshops, with whom we have total confidence and with whom we work hand in hand on a daily basis. Jonak shoes are mainly manufactured in Europe, which accounts for 86% of our total production. In Europe, we have factories in Portugal, Spain and Italy, each specialized in a certain type of production. Jonak shoes can also be made in Asia, and more specifically in India, a country specialized in the manufacture of our raffia sandals for summer. The Maghreb also contributes to production, accounting for 2%. The country of manufacture of each model is indicated in the "Description" section of each product data sheet. To help you choose the right size, Jonak provides a "Size Guide" available just below the size selection button on any product sheet. 
As these are averages, generally calculated on a size 37, we recommend that you also refer to the information provided on the product sheets, such as measurements and model sizing, in the "Description" tab.

Jonak has been committed to consumers, workshops and the planet ever since it was founded in 1964, an approach that is an integral part of the brand's identity. Quality, trust and ethics are the 3 pillars of our CSR approach, which has traditionally been an integral part of our challenges. This CSR approach also includes audited workshops, recyclable packaging, responsible production, essentially European manufacturing and certified materials. Jonak's founder is Marcel Nakam, who opened the first Jonak boutique in 1964 on rue Saint-Placide in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district of Paris, alongside his wife Josette. In 1978, his son Joseph took over the business with his mother, having just completed his accounting studies. In 2012, Joseph's children Marcel (again) and Lisa joined the family adventure, making them the third generation to head the women's shoe brand. To find out more about the Jonak story, click here.

The Jonak story began in 1964, when Marcel and Josette Nakam opened their first shoe boutique in Paris. Alongside Marcel, in the small boutique on 26, were his wife Josette and son Joseph. By forming the name "Jonak", a fusion of their first name and the Nakam surname, Marcel sealed their destiny: Jonak is and will remain a family adventure.
When his father died, Joseph, the eldest of three sons, took over. The year was 1978, and he had just completed his accounting studies. Having kept pace with his parents' business for years, he couldn't bring himself to sell the store on rue Saint-Placide. Despite his mother's concerns, he decided to continue what his father had started and gradually expanded the business, opening a second boutique on rue de Rennes. From this address, and more particularly from the café opposite, Le Vieux Colombier, Joseph Nakam observed Parisian women and their sense of style. In order to offer collections that are as close as possible to their desires, he draws inspiration from passers-by: colors, shapes, looks, which trends emerge and which disappear? A detail that may seem anecdotal, but which reflects a certain personality: Joseph is visionary and discreet, creative and rigorous, avant-garde and realistic.As the years went by, he surrounded himself with a small but passionate team who would follow him for several decades. One small victory followed another, and the brand took off in the 1990s.
In 2012, Marcel and Lisa, two of his four children, joined him and brought modernity and digitalization to the brand. Today, they form the trio at the head of Jonak, each specializing in certain areas of the business.
